Born Masatoshi Sakai in Kagoshima, Japan; comedian, actor, and producer Furankî Sakai boasts over 150 appearances on the big and small screen – most notably his Blue Ribbon Award-winning work in Sun in the Last Days of the Shogunate (1957) and Shiawase wa orera no negai (1957), and the 1980 TV Mini-Series SHOGUN. His starring role as tenacious reporter Senichiro ‘Sen-chan’ or ‘Bulldog’ Fukuda in 1961’s MOTHRA affirms his rightful esteem among the honored CDF Alumni.
