Elena Angela Verdugo was an American actress — perhaps best known for her role as office assistant/nurse Consuelo Lopez in the ABC series Marcus Welby, M.D., (1969-1976). Among her sixty-five appearances on the big screen and small — Ms. Verdugo has appeared alongside Gene Autry and Stephen Dunne in The Big Sombrero (1949), a starring role as a singer in the musical comedy film Panama Sal (1957), and co-starring in fantasy adventure film Thief of Damascus (1952). CDF enthusiasts may remember her as Ilonka the love-struck gypsy, in the 1944 monster movie HOUSE OF FRANKENSTEIN!
