Happy Birthday to CDF alumnus Jack Elam!

November 13, 1920 – October 20, 2003

Born in Miami, Arizona; William Scott “Jack” Elam was an American film and television actor best known for his many villainous roles in Western films and comedies, with the remarkable and distinguishing physical quality of his misaligned eye. Mr. Elam’s career on the big and small screens included roles in 73 movies and appearances in 41 television series – including Gunsmoke (1960, 1964), The Rifleman (1959), Bonanza (1961, 1967, 1970), Have Gun – Will Travel (1958), Zorro (1958), The Lone Ranger (1954-1955), The Twilight Zone (1961), Once Upon A Time In The West (1968), Rio Lobo (1970), The Cannonball Run (1981), and Cannonball Run II (1984). However it is his role as Joe Canton in the 1976 independent horror film CREATURE FROM BLACK LAKE, that entitles Mr. Elam’s admission among the exalted CDF Alumni.
