June 17, 1904 – November 29, 1991

Born in Chicago, Illinois – Ralph Rexford Bellamy was an American actor whose career spanned 62 years on stage, film, and television. During Mr. Bellamy’s illustrious career he portrayed a wide variety of roles that garnered acclaim and awards, including an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor for The Awful Truth (1937). Many fans may remember his most recent roles, such as 1983’s comedy hit – Trading Places, or the 1990 romantic comedy Pretty Woman; but it is his critical roles as Colonel Paul Montford in 1941’s THE WOLF MAN, Dr. Paul Hallet in 1938’s THE CRIME OF DOCTOR HALLET, and Erik Ernst in 1942’s THE GHOST OF FRANKENSTEIN that secures his deserved status among the esteemed CDF Alumni.
