Born Sadaho Maeda in Fukuoka, Japan; and beginning his screen career under the name Shin’ichi Chiba – Mr. Chiba was a prolific actor in Japanese film and TV, with more than 200 acting credits in movies and television, including films such as Invasion of the Neptune Men (1961), The Golden Bat (1966), The Street Fighter (1974), Golgo 13: Assignment Kowloon (1977), Message From Space (1978), Shogun’s Ninja (1982), and Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003). But it is his role as the heroic journalist Ken Abe in the 1966 creature feature classic TERROR BENEATH THE SEA that confirmed Mr. Chiba’s inclusion among the honored CDF Alumni.
