Happy Birthday to CDF alumnus Lee Van Cleef!

January 9, 1925 – December 16, 1989

Born Clarence Leroy Van Cleef, Jr in Somerville, New Jersey; Mr. Van Cleef often portrayed great movie villains and is perhaps best known for his roles in Spagetti Westerns such as For A Few Dollars More (1965) and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966). Many of us will remember him as Hauk in the 1981 John Carpenter cult classic Escape From New York or as ninja master John Peter McAllister in the 1984 television show The Master. But it is his role as the well meaning but misguided scientist Dr. Tom Anderson in the creature feature classic IT CONQUERED THE WORLD (1963) that confirmed Mr. Cleef’s stature among the honored CDF Alumni.
